Josie Maran Argan Color Stick Review

Claims:

This dual-purpose lip and cheek color provides flattering, subtle color while treating the skin with Josie Maran’s signature argan oil. To be used as a blush or lip color, the color stick leaves a natural and long-lasting dewy finish that complements any skintone while repairing and replenishing the skin.

Our Thoughts:

I have nothing negative to say about this product! I LOVE  IT! I am a huge fan of cream blush, in fact I rarely use powder on clients or myself. I always pass by the Josie Maran counter at Sephora but recently decided to stop, because I needed a blush touch up.  I grabbed the stick in Neutral pink and loved it. I ended up buying the Neutral Pink and Nude Warm Brown. I could not be happier with this cheek color stick. It has become my favourite cream blush and I haven’t touched anything else since. This product has a thick, creamy high-pigmented color, so you don’t need much. You can pat it with your fingers straight from the stick, which is how I would recommend applying it.  You can also use it on the lips! It left a really dewy natural finish and I found it had just the right amount of pigment. No need to work to hard blending out or build up the colour.  I love this colour stick! Its long wearing, modern and natural. Everyone should try it!

p.s.  Argan Colour Sticks are  free of Parabens, Sulfate,Synthetic Fragrances, Phthalates, and GMOs.

Our thoughts:

I bought this to use as a finishing powder, not a foundation. As a finishing powder, it is really nice. It is mattifying but offers a beautiful modern glow. I found that is was very lightweight and did not oxidize throughout the day. That’s what I look for in a powder! It is also talc and paraben free which is a plus!!

The powder is marketed as a foundation.  I tried using it  with liquid foundation underneath and without. Personally I don’t see how this powder can be classified as a foundation. It does not offer much coverage nor can you build to fuller coverage without it looking too powdery.  To be honest, I am not a huge fan of foundation powders so this doesn’t bother me. I think it is much nicer just as a setting powder over liquid foundation. If you are looking for something heavier which allows for more coverage right away, this is not for you. If you like something lightweight, sheer and hydrating this is a go to!

Overall: This is for someone who wants light coverage. Preferred as a setting powder.
